Adam Scott, best known for his roles in dramas like "Big Little Lies" and "Parks and Recreation", might not immediately come to mind as a comedic actor. But the truth is that he has been quietly carving out a niche for himself in the world of comedy for years.

Before breaking into Hollywood, Scott was one half of a comedy duo with childhood friend and fellow actor Xander Berkeley. The pair performed sketch comedy together in Los Angeles before parting ways to pursue their own careers.

Scott's first breakout role in a comedy was as Henry Pollard on the short-lived but critically acclaimed Starz series "Party Down". The show followed a group of struggling actors who work as caterers on the side, and Scott was the standout as the washed-up former actor who dreams of returning to the spotlight.

From there, Scott went on to tackle a range of comedic roles, like playing Will Ferrell's evil brother in the movie "Step Brothers", and appearing in recurring roles on shows like "The Good Place" and "Eastbound & Down".

But perhaps his biggest comedic success came from his role as Ben Wyatt on "Parks and Recreation". Scott joined the cast in season two and quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his deadpan delivery and chemistry with his co-stars. His portrayal of the nerdy government employee who grows to love the small town of Pawnee, Indiana was so beloved that it earned him a nomination for the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

Despite his successes in both drama and comedy, Scott has said that he doesn't consider himself a comedian. In an interview with The Guardian, he explained, "I have never thought of myself as particularly funny. I'm pleased when people laugh at things I do but it's not my goal."

Regardless of whether he considers himself a comedic actor or not, there's no denying that Adam Scott has a natural talent for making people laugh. With his dry wit and impeccable timing, he's proven himself to be a versatile actor who can transition seamlessly from drama to comedy and back again.
