Boavista FC, commonly known as Boavista, is a professional football club from Portugal that plays in the Primeira Liga, the highest level of Portuguese football. They are one of the oldest and most historic clubs in the country, having been founded in 1903 by British businessmen living in Porto.

Throughout their illustrious history, Boavista has had many ups and downs, but they have always been amongst the top teams in Portugal. They have won several domestic and international titles over the years, including the Primeira Liga title in 2001, the Taca de Portugal five times, the Taca da Liga once and the UEFA Intertoto Cup twice.

The team’s name, “Boavista”, means “good view” in Portuguese. The team's colours are black and white striped shirts, black shorts, and black socks. The supporters of Boavista are known as "Panthers", based on the team’s mascot.

Their home ground, Estádio do Bessa XXI, was built for Euro 2004 and has a capacity of 28,263 spectators. Known for its unique design that integrates commercial and office areas into the stadium complex, it offers fans a great viewing experience whilst also housing offices and shopping centres.

Notable players such as João Pinto, Francisco Araújo, Elpídio Silva, and Zé Manuel have all donned the famous black and white stripes, and a few ex-players have also gone on to represent the national team, like Filipe Anunciação, who played for Boavista from 1995 to 2003, earned ten caps for Portugal.

Boavista FC is currently managed by Jesualdo Ferreira, a well-known Portuguese coach who has managed many high-profile clubs in Portugal and abroad. Although they are not currently one of the elites of the league, Boavista always manages to surprise their opponents and have built a reputation as a giant-killer, especially when facing the league's top teams.

In conclusion, Boavista FC is a club that has a rich history in Portuguese football. They may not be the most successful team recently, but they always have fans cheering them on in every game, both home and away. They continue to be one of the most respected clubs in the Primeira Liga and have left an indelible mark on Portuguese football.
