Brommapojkarna, also known as BP, is a professional Swedish football club based in the Stockholm suburb of Bromma. The team has an interesting history that spans over a century, and they have played an important role in Swedish soccer.

Founded in 1942 by Sigge Bergman, BP started out as a youth club where young boys in the area could come together to play football. Over time, the club grew in size and popularity, and the Brommapojkarna senior team was eventually formed in 1970.

Throughout their history, BP has developed many talented players who have gone on to play both nationally and internationally. One of their most famous alumni is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who played for BP’s youth program before moving on to Malmo FF and eventually becoming one of the world's most recognizable soccer stars.

BP has experienced ups and downs throughout their journey, with periods of success interspersed with times of struggle. Despite this, the team has remained resilient and committed to building a strong foundation for future generations of players.

In the early years of the club, BP played primarily in lower divisions of Swedish football. However, since the 1990s, the team has had several successful seasons and has competed in the nation’s top tier, Allsvenskan. In 2007, they earned their highest-ever finish in the league, finishing second behind IFK Gothenburg.

BP has also experienced success in the Svenska Cupen, or Swedish Cup. They won the cup in 1985, and then again in 2013 after defeating Djurgardens IF in the final.

As a club, BP is known for its positive and inclusive culture. The team is open to all interested players, regardless of age or skill level, and fosters an environment of teamwork and support. This approach has helped the club become one of the largest and most respected in Sweden, with a membership of over 7,000 players and coaches.

In recent years, BP has undergone some changes in leadership and structure, and the team is currently working to rebuild and reestablish itself in Swedish football. With a strong foundation and dedicated community behind them, there’s no doubt that Brommapojkarna will continue to make an impact on soccer for years to come.
