Their contributions to Broadway have spanned decades, with each performer bringing unique talents and energy to the stage. From their early beginnings in regional theater to their iconic roles on the Great White Way, Chita and Tune are true icons of a bygone era.

Chita Rivera began her career as a dancer in 1950s New York City. She quickly made a name for herself, performing in productions both on and off Broadway. In 1957, she made her Broadway debut in the musical "Call Me Madam." From there, she went on to star in numerous Broadway productions, including "West Side Story," "Sweet Charity," "Chicago," and "The Rink." She has won two Tony awards for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, and has been nominated for numerous others. Rivera's dancing style is known for its athleticism and grace, and her performances remain some of the most memorable in Broadway history.

Tommy Tune began his career as a dancer as well, training at the Houston Ballet before moving to New York City. He made his Broadway debut in the chorus of "Baker Street" in 1965, and quickly rose through the ranks to become a leading man. Some of his most notable roles include Jeff Moss in "The Goodbye Girl," Huckleberry Finn in "Big River," and Mack Sennett in "The Will Rogers Follies." Like Rivera, Tune has won multiple Tony awards, including one for Best Actor in a Musical, and has been nominated for many more. His signature tall frame and long limbs have made him a distinctive and memorable performer.

Chita and Tune first appeared together on Broadway in the 1983 musical "My One and Only." The show was a huge success, running for over 500 performances and earning both performers Tony nominations. It was a testament to their individual talents, as well as their chemistry on stage. In 2003, they reunited once again for the musical revue "Chita & Tune: Just in Time," which showcased their many talents and celebrated their long and storied careers.

Throughout their careers, Chita Rivera and Tommy Tune have been integral parts of the theater community. They have worked tirelessly to improve and promote the art form that they love, both through their own performances and through their support of other artists. They are true icons of the industry, and their contributions will be remembered for years to come.
