Christine Howlett is a renowned classical vocalist and an experienced educator who has devoted her life to not only performing at the highest level but also educating the next generation of classical performers. Her contributions to the world of classical music are invaluable and have helped shape the industry for decades.

Howlett received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She has performed throughout the United States and in Europe as a soloist with many renowned orchestras including the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra Augusta, Savannah Philharmonic, the Richmond Symphony Orchestra, Dayton Opera, Bach Society of Minnesota, and Festival Chautauqua (NY), among others.

As a dedicated educator, Howlett has served on the faculty of numerous prestigious institutions including Ohio Northern University, Georgia State University, and the University of Alabama, where she is currently the Director of Opera Theatre and Professor of Music. She has led workshops and masterclasses around the world including in Brazil, Italy, and the UK.

In addition to her performance and educational endeavors, Howlett is also an accomplished author. In 2018 she released her book, “Singing Insects: A Masterclass in Vocal Performance,” which offers readers insights and techniques for improving their vocal abilities and honing their craft.

One of Howlett’s major contributions to classical music has been her work with musicians’ health and wellness. She serves on the board of directors for the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and is an advocate for promoting healthy singing practices. She regularly presents on topics such as “Mindfulness Practices for Performers” and “Preventing and Treating Burnout.”
