Jost was, without a doubt, destined from an early age that he would make a career in comedy. Born on June 29, 1982, in Staten Island, New York City.
Jost began his studies at Regis High School in Manhattan and later graduated from Harvard University in 2004, where he became the president of Harvard Lampoon, a humor magazine.
After graduating, Jost worked as an editorial assistant for The New Yorker before transitioning into comedy with a writing career. Eventually, he landed a career-changing job as a writer for Saturday Night Live (SNL) in 2005. He started working as one of the show’s writers, earning a name for himself with some of the funny and contemporary skits aired on SNL. Some of his works include

In recognition of Jost’s long-term contributions to comedy, Time's magazine listed him among TIME's 100 Most Influential People in 2018.
