The Dayton Demolition was a minor professional ice hockey team based in Dayton, Ohio. The team competed in the Federal Hockey League (FHL) for only one season, from 2015 to 2016, before folding due to financial difficulties.

Despite its short-lived history, the Dayton Demolition left an indelible mark on the local hockey community. The team played its home games at Hara Arena, a beloved sports venue in Dayton that had hosted countless hockey games and other events since its opening in 1964. In fact, the Demolition was the last professional sports team to play at Hara Arena before it closed down in 2016.

On the ice, the Dayton Demolition struggled to find success in the FHL. The team finished with a record of 14-33-3 and missed the playoffs. However, the Demolition did have several notable players who went on to play at higher levels of professional hockey.

One of the most recognizable players on the roster was Guy Dupuis, a veteran defenseman who had played in numerous leagues over his career, including the American Hockey League and the East Coast Hockey League. Dupuis had been brought in by the Demolition as both a player and an assistant coach, and he proved to be a stabilizing force for the young team.

Another prominent player for the Dayton Demolition was Matt Azzaro, a forward who had played collegiately at Robert Morris University. Azzaro led the team in scoring with 50 points (21 goals, 29 assists) in 48 games. He went on to play one more season in the FHL with the Danville Dashers before retiring from professional hockey.

Despite the Dayton Demolition's struggles on the ice and eventual demise off it, the team still holds a special place in the hearts of local hockey fans. The Demolition may have only lasted one season, but it provided an opportunity for Dayton to have its own professional hockey team and gave players a chance to showcase their skills at the next level.
