Desus’ journey in the entertainment industry began in 2013 when he launched a podcast with The Kid Mero called “Desus vs. Mero.” The podcast quickly gained popularity, attracting thousands of listeners. The two comedians soon caught the attention of Complex Media, who offered them their own web series, “Desus vs. Mero TV.”
In 2014, Desus and The Kid Mero started working for MTV2 as correspondents on the network’s late-night talk show, Guy Code. They also appeared in their own talk show, Uncommon Sense with Charlamagne tha God, which aired on MTV2.
In 2016, the two comedians landed a deal with Viceland for their own nightly talk show, Desus & Mero. The show quickly became popular for its irreverent humor and pointed commentary on current events. In 2018, the show moved to Showtime, where it continues to air new episodes.
Desus’ rise to fame in the comedy world has been meteoric, but it’s not surprising considering his talent and dedication to his craft. Despite his success, he remains grounded and focused on making people laugh.
