The DSL Angels were established in 1991 and have been affiliated with the Angels since their inception. The team’s purpose is to help develop young talent from the Dominican Republic who are potentially good prospects for the MLB.
The Angels have been known to have some of the best young talent in the DSL. They have produced several players who have gone on to play for MLB teams, such as Erick Aybar, Kelvin Escobar, Francisco Rodriguez, Ramon Ortiz, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
The DSL Angels’ season runs from June through August and typically consists of around 70 games. The league is made up of teams that are affiliated with various MLB organizations and play against each other in smaller stadiums throughout the Dominican Republic.
One of the benefits of playing in the DSL is that it allows young players to gain experience playing against other talented players. It also exposes them to the rigors and challenges of professional baseball in a controlled environment.
The DSL Angels work to ensure that their players receive quality coaching and instruction. Coaches and staff focus on developing players’ skills, both on and off the field. This includes helping players improve their physical fitness, nutrition, and mental strength.
