The Eugene Generals are a non-profit hockey organization based in Eugene, Oregon. The team has a strong history of success and is known for producing talented players who have gone on to play at the college level and beyond.

The Eugene Generals were founded in 2005 by Chuck Cranston and Kevin Gawryluk. The team played their first season in the Western States Hockey League (WSHL) in 2005-2006 and have been a mainstay in the league ever since. The WSHL is a junior league consisting of teams from across the western United States and Canada.

In their inaugural season, the Generals finished with a record of 22-24-1 and missed the playoffs. However, they quickly turned things around, making the playoffs in each of the next 10 seasons and winning three division championships. In the 2017-2018 season, the Generals had their best season yet, finishing with a record of 42 wins, five losses, and two ties. They went on to win the Pacific Division title and made it all the way to the championship game before falling to the El Paso Rhinos.

One aspect that sets the Eugene Generals apart from other teams in the league is their commitment to giving back to the community. In addition to providing affordable entertainment for fans in Eugene, the team also participates in various community events throughout the year. This includes visiting local hospitals, schools, and charities. The team's "Generals Give Back" program has been well-received by the community and is a testament to the team's dedication to being more than just a hockey team.

Another reason why the Eugene Generals have been successful is their ability to develop young talent. Many of the team's players have gone on to play at the collegiate level and some have even made it to the professional ranks. Notable Generals alumni include Cole Caufield and Chris St. Jacques, both of whom have played in the National Hockey League.

Overall, the Eugene Generals are a well-respected hockey organization that has had plenty of success on and off the ice. They are committed to giving back to their community while also providing a competitive and entertaining product on the ice. With a bright future ahead, the Generals will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the Western States Hockey League.
