Evelyn Glennie is a highly acclaimed percussionist who has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music. Born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland in 1965, she was introduced to music at a young age and began playing piano and clarinet. However, she soon became enamored with percussion instruments and decided to focus her musical career on mastering them.

She was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London when she was just 16, becoming the first full-time solo percussionist to do so.
