The club has won the Swiss Super League 12 times, the Swiss Cup 10 times, and also has a number of international accolades, including winning the UEFA Intertoto Cup in 2000 and qualifying for the Champions League group stages on four separate occasions.
In addition to their domestic success, FC Zurich has also produced a number of notable players who have gone on to have successful careers in European soccer. Taulant Xhaka, who played for FC Zurich from 2012-2014, went on to play for Basel and Arsenal, while Ricardo Rodriguez, who played for the club from 2009-2012, went on to play for Wolfsburg and AC Milan.
Over the years, FC Zurich has faced a number of challenges, including financial struggles that led to the club being relegated from the top flight in 2018. However, they bounced back quickly, winning promotion back to the Swiss Super League just one year later.
