GFNY Italia 2017 – The Ultimate Endurance Test for Cyclists

GFNY Italia is one of the most popular and well-known amateur cycling events in Italy. This event has been designed to test the endurance, stamina, and grit of cyclists from all over the world. In its third edition, GFNY Italia 2017 brought together more than 1,000 participants who competed on challenging routes, ranging from 74km to 184km, exploring the beautiful scenery and iconic landmarks of the Tuscany region.

The GFNY Italia 2017 challenged cyclists with a 5,200 meter elevation gain and two timed climbs: the first being the Lucca climb and the second being the Montecarlo climb. The route started and finished at the Piazza Napoleone in Lucca – a town famous for its medieval walls and cobbled streets that date back to the Renaissance era.

Not only was the GFNY Italia 2017 a challenging race for cyclists, but it also gave participants an opportunity to explore Tuscany on their bicycles. As riders navigated through picturesque towns and villages, they experienced breathtaking views of vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills. The scenery was so beautiful that some riders couldn't resist making stops along the way to take in the view and snap photographs.

One unique aspect of the GFNY Italia 2017 was that it was open to cyclists of all levels, from beginners to professionals. In order to cater to the varying skills and endurance levels of participants, the organizers offered three different routes of varying difficulty – the Medio Fondo (74km), Gran Fondo (130km), and Super Gran Fondo (184km).

For many riders, the GFNY Italia 2017 was not just a one-day race but rather an experience that lasted for several days leading up to the event. The town of Lucca was thronging with cyclists prior to the event, all of whom had come from different parts of the world. The pre-race expo, where participants could collect their race bibs and merchandise, was a hive of activity as cyclists connected with one another, shared stories and experiences, and soaked in the atmosphere of the race.

The GFNY Italia 2017 was undoubtedly a daunting challenge for the participants – both physically and mentally. However, it was also an amazing opportunity for riders to indulge in their passion for cycling while experiencing the beauty and culture of Italy. With its stunning scenery, challenging routes, and international appeal, the GFNY Italia 2017 is set to become an annual fixture on the world cycling calendar.
