Hofstra University's baseball team, also known as the Pride, has a long and storied history in the world of college baseball. Over the years, the Pride has established itself as one of the premier Division I baseball programs in the Northeast region of the United States.

The Pride's home field is James M. Shuart Stadium, which is located on Hofstra's campus in Hempstead, New York. The stadium features a state-of-the-art playing surface, along with seating for over 3,000 fans. This allows the team to showcase its talent in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

Over the years, Hofstra baseball has produced several notable alumni who have gone on to play at the professional level. Some of the most notable former Pride players include Keith Osik, who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Milwaukee Brewers, John Franco, who had a long career with the Cincinnati Reds and New York Mets, and Joe Nathan, who spent time with several different major league teams.

In recent years, the Pride has continued to build on its tradition of excellence on the baseball diamond. In the 2021 season, the team finished with a record of 22-16 overall, and 14-10 in conference play. This solid performance landed them a spot in the Colonial Athletic Association championship tournament, where they advanced all the way to the semifinals before ultimately falling to UNC Wilmington.

Of course, the success of the Pride wouldn't be possible without the hard work and dedication of the coaching staff and players. Head Coach John Russo has been at the helm of the program since 2016, and has helped the team to numerous winning seasons during his tenure. His commitment to developing talented players both on and off the field has earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues in the coaching community.

At the end of the day, what sets the Hofstra University Pride baseball team apart is their unwavering dedication to the game of baseball. Whether it's through hours spent honing their skills on the practice field, or the intense focus they bring to each and every game they play, these athletes are true ambassadors for the sport of baseball. As the team continues to build on its proud legacy, there's no doubt that we'll be hearing more about the Hofstra Pride in years to come.
