Improv 3 SUN-McGeehan Class & Long Form 1 Class Show Tickets

Improvisation has long been a favorite form of comedy. Two classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Improv 3 SUN-McGeehan Class and Long Form 1 Class, recently put on a show that showcased their skills in the art of improv comedy.

The Improv 3 SUN-McGeehan Class performed first, with their show featuring short-form improv games. Short-form improv games are structured scenes that are based on audience suggestions. They typically last anywhere from three to five minutes and often involve multiple players. The audience members shout out specific ideas (such as places, emotions, or scenarios), and the performers use those suggestions to create a hilarious scene on the spot.

The performers in this class were skilled in quickly adapting to any suggestion thrown their way. They created scenes that ranged from a pirate-themed date night to a school assembly where the guest speaker was a robot. Long Form improv is a bit different than Short-Form, as it allows for the creation of a longer narrative. Instead of jumping from game to game, the performers in Long Form improv build a larger story over the course of the show. This type of improv relies heavily on group dynamics, as all of the performers must work together to keep the plot moving forward.

The Long Form 1 Class did an impressive job of creating a compelling storyline under the guidance of their instructor.
