Improv 3 TUES (Stoltenberg) & Con 1 (Reay) Class Show Tickets

On the evening of May 5th, two classes from The Second City Training Center put their comedic skills to the test in a Class Show that left the audience in stitches.

The first class to take to the stage was Improv 3 TUES, taught by veteran performer and writer Mary Catherine Stoltenberg. Stoltenberg's students, who had been working together for several weeks, demonstrated their abilities to weave stories and construct scenes on-the-fly. Using various improv techniques such as "Yes, and..." and "If, Then," they built hilarious sketches about everything from being stuck in a never-ending Tinder date to a tumultuous cult meeting.

Following Improv 3 TUES, the Con 1 class took to the stage under the tutelage of veteran comedian and actor Colleen Reay. Consisting of actors of all experience levels, this class delved into the world of sketch comedy, creating several original pieces based on current events and pop culture.

One particularly inspired skit involved a group of office workers discovering a secret underground city beneath their workplace. The absurdity of the premise combined with sharp writing brought the house down with laughter.
