International Association of Blacks in Dance
The International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) is a pioneering organization dedicated to promoting and advancing dance performances, education, and advocacy within the Black dance community.
History of IABD
Established in 1991, the IABD has been instrumental in providing platforms for Black dancers, choreographers, and educators to showcase their talent and creativity. Over the years, the organization has garnered widespread recognition for its commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the dance industry.
Mission and Vision
The mission of IABD is to preserve and promote dance by people of African ancestry or origin, and to assist and increase opportunities for artists in advocacy, audience development, education, funding, networking, performance, philosophical dialogue, and touring.
