Johnson & Wales University (NC) Wildcats women's basketball team is a part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III. The team has been steadily growing in numbers and becoming more recognized in the college women's basketball circuit.

The Wildcats have been competing in the NCAA since the 2018-19 season, and they have shown great promise early on. In the inaugural season itself, the team went 17-9 overall, which was an impressive feat for a first-year program. They also had an 11-3 record in the United East Conference play, earning them a spot in the conference tournament.

Head coach Julie Ford has been with the program since its inception and is greatly responsible for its success. She has built a solid foundation for her team, bringing in talented student-athletes who are committed to playing at the collegiate level.

One standout player on the team is junior guard Yuquanna Green, who has been named the United East Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week twice this season. Green has been averaging 20.4 points per game, which ranks seventh in the nation for NCAA Division III.

The Wildcats have also been showing their strength as a team, having won six out of their last eight games. Their most recent victory over rival Brevard College saw them come out on top with a 69-46 win. This success can be attributed to their strong defense, which has allowed an average of just 49.7 points per game, ranking in the top ten in the country in NCAA Division III.

While the Wildcats are still a fairly new program, they are already starting to make a name for themselves in college women's basketball. As they continue to grow and develop, they will surely become a force to be reckoned with in the competitive world of NCAA Division III athletics.
