Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1979, Klepper spent much of his early life exploring his passion for comedy. He attended Kalamazoo College, where he was heavily involved in the theater program and honed his skills as a performer.
After college, Klepper moved to Chicago to pursue a career in comedy. He began performing at local clubs and quickly gained a reputation as a talented stand-up comedian. In 2007, he joined the sketch comedy group The Second City, where he worked alongside other future comedy stars like Key and Peele and Amy Poehler.
Klepper's big break came in 2014, when he was hired as a correspondent for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. He quickly proved himself as an adept satirist, using humor to skewer politicians and cultural figures alike. His recurring segment, "Jordan Klepper Solves Guns," in which he tried to find solutions to America's gun violence problem, earned him critical acclaim and helped establish him as a rising star in the comedy world.
In 2017, Klepper was given his own show, The Opposition with Jordan Klepper. The show, which aired for one season, parodied right-wing media and featured Klepper as a conservative pundit. While it wasn't as successful as some of his other projects, it further cemented Klepper's status as a leading voice in political comedy.
Since The Opposition ended, Klepper has continued to work on various projects for Comedy Central. He has also hosted his own podcast, created his own web series, and even written and directed his own feature film, the mockumentary-style comedy "Klepper."
