The Kenosha Kingfish are a Northwoods League team based in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The Northwoods League is a summer collegiate baseball league that showcases some of the best up-and-coming college baseball players from around the country. Founded in 2013, the Kingfish have quickly become one of the most successful and popular teams in the league.
One of the things that sets the Kingfish apart is their commitment to creating a unique experience for their fans. From themed game nights (like “Star Wars Night” and “Harry Potter Night”) to in-game entertainment and promotions, the team strives to provide a fun and memorable experience for everyone who attends a game at their ballpark.
But make no mistake – the Kingfish are serious about winning, too. In their first season, they won the Northwoods League South Division Championship, and they’ve been competitive every year since. In 2019, they even advanced to the Northwoods League Championship Series before ultimately falling short.
Of course, the 2020 season was a bit different due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Northwoods League was able to play a modified schedule, with the Kingfish playing a limited number of games against other teams in the Wisconsin-Illinois Pod. Despite the challenges of the shortened season, the Kingfish still managed to put together a competitive team and give their fans something to cheer for.
Looking ahead to 2021, there’s reason to be excited about this team. The Kingfish have a talented roster and a coaching staff that knows how to develop young players. They’ll also be returning to a full Northwoods League schedule, meaning fans will have plenty of opportunities to catch them in action.
