Rothfield grew up in Danville, California where she was heavily involved in musical theater from a young age. She began performing in local productions when she was just five years old and continued to pursue her passion throughout her teenage years. In high school, she performed in several musicals including "Grease," "Footloose," and "Sweeney Todd."
Her love of musical theater eventually led her to attend college at the University of Miami where she studied vocal performance and songwriting. While at college, Rothfield continued to perform in musicals and even landed lead roles in productions such as "Rent" and "The Last Five Years."
In addition to performing in musical theater, Rothfield also began writing her own music during her time at college. She credits her experience with musical theater as a major influence on her songwriting style. In an interview with The Daily Californian, Rothfield stated, "I think being involved in musical theater helped me learn how to tell a story through music. It taught me about the importance of character development and how that relates to the emotional arc of a song."
After graduating from college, Rothfield moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. Her experience with musical theater proved to be invaluable as she began performing at venues across the city. She quickly gained a following for her powerful live performances and soulful lyrics.
