Flautist Marina Piccinini is one of the preeminent interpreters of classical flute music today. Born in Italy and raised in the United States, Piccinini has performed with many of the world's leading orchestras and conductors, and has recorded extensively as a soloist.

Piccinini began studying the flute at the age of nine, and soon showed exceptional talent. She went on to study at Philadelphia's Curtis Institute of Music and later at the Juilliard School in New York. It was there that she became particularly interested in the works of J.S. Bach, and began to focus her career on performing and recording music from the Baroque era.

As a young flautist, Piccinini quickly gained recognition for her technical virtuosity and musical sensitivity. Her playing was noted for its purity of tone, precision, and subtlety of expression. These qualities have been consistently evident throughout her career, whether she is performing Bach, Mozart, or contemporary works.

In addition to performing, Piccinini is also an active educator. She has taught at several universities and conservatories, including the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore and the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. In 2014, she founded The Marina Piccinini International Flute Masterclasses, which bring together flautists from around the world for intensive training and performance opportunities.

While Piccinini is best known for her performances of classical repertoire, she has also collaborated with musicians from other genres. She has recorded with jazz pianist Danilo Perez and appeared as a guest artist with the internationally acclaimed Canadian Brass ensemble.
