On May 9, 2014, fans gathered at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, to witness an amazing night of MMA action. The event featured five main card bouts and was headlined by two championship fights. In both title fights, the reigning champions faced off against tough opponents who were hungry to dethrone them and claim the crown for themselves.
In the first championship bout, heavyweight champion Anthony "Rumble" Johnson put his belt on the line against former UFC fighter D.J. Linderman. After a competitive opening round, Davis found his rhythm in the second and was able to secure a TKO victory with a flurry of strikes. Meanwhile, McKenzie took on Mark Dobie in a lightweight bout. McKenzie, known for his signature "McKenzietine" choke, was able to secure the submission victory in the first round, adding another win to his impressive record.
