Medeski Scofield Martin & Wood, commonly referred to as “MSMW”, is a jazz fusion supergroup comprising of John Medeski on keyboards, John Scofield on guitar, Billy Martin on drums, and Chris Wood on bass. Known for their avant-garde approach to jazz music, MSMW has been captivating audiences with their electrifying live performances for more than two decades.

MSMW was formed in 1996 when John Scofield, one of the most influential jazz guitarists of his generation, teamed up with Medeski, Martin, and Wood. The quartet quickly developed a unique sound blending elements of funk, rock, and free jazz. Their live shows soon gained a reputation for being both daring and unpredictable, featuring extended improvisations and unexpected twists and turns.
