Media Maraton de San Juan 2017 Tickets

The annual Media Maraton de San Juan, held in the beautiful city of San Juan, Puerto Rico, is one of the most eagerly anticipated sporting events of the year. The 2017 edition was no exception, with thousands of runners and spectators descending on the city to take part or cheer along.

For those unfamiliar with it, a half-marathon is a gruelling running event that covers 13.1 miles, almost the same distance as a full marathon. It requires serious dedication and training to prepare for, and only the hardiest souls dare to attempt the challenge. But for those who do make it through, there's no feeling like crossing the finish line, knowing that you've conquered not just the course but your own limits as well.

The route of this year's Media Maraton de San Juan wove its way through the historic streets of the city, past gorgeous colonial-era buildings and bustling marketplaces. Runners had the opportunity to take in some of San Juan's most iconic sights, such as El Morro fort and the colourful neighbourhood of La Perla.

But don't let the scenery fool you - this was no leisurely touristic stroll! The course featured some tough uphill climbs and steep downhills, challenging participants every step of the way. For many runners, this was their first time taking on such a demanding route, making the achievement all the sweeter when they reached the finish line triumphantly.

Of course, a race of this scale doesn't happen by magic. Months of planning and preparation went into organising the Media Maraton, from coordinating sponsors to designing the t-shirts that participants would be proudly wearing on the day. And that's to say nothing of the work put in by the medical teams on hand to help any runners who might need assistance along the way.

When all was said and done, the 2017 Media Maraton de San Juan was a resounding success. Runners of all ages and backgrounds came together to test their limits, pushing themselves to the limit and raising money for charity in the process. While they might have been feeling every one of those 13.1 miles by the end, there was no doubt that the sense of accomplishment was worth it. And with preparations for next year's race already underway, we can't wait to see what the organisers will have in store for us in 2018!
