Baylor and Arizona both had solid seasons leading up to the regional, but ultimately fell short. Baylor won its opening game against Arizona, but then lost two straight games to be eliminated from the tournament. Arizona, on the other hand, lost its first two games to NJIT and Texas A&M, ending their season.
As for NJIT, they were the underdogs coming into the regional. The Highlanders had never before competed in an NCAA baseball tournament, so this was a historic moment for their program. They shocked everyone by winning their first two games against Texas A&M and Arizona, but lost to Baylor in their final game to end their run.
The NCAA Baseball College Station Regionals showcased some excellent talent on the diamond. Fans saw clutch hitting, precise pitching, and impressive defensive plays throughout the tournament. The competition was intense, as each team fought hard to keep their national championship hopes alive.
