Neeme Jarvi is a highly respected and accomplished conductor in the world of classical music. He was born in Estonia in 1937, and his career has spanned over six decades.

Jarvi began his musical studies at the Tallinn Conservatory in Estonia, where he studied percussion, conducting, and composition. In 1960, he became a member of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, playing the timpani. He quickly became interested in conducting and began to conduct smaller orchestras and ensembles.

In 1963, Jarvi entered the Leningrad Conservatory in Russia, where he continued his studies in conducting. After graduation, he worked as a conductor in various opera houses across the Soviet Union.
