Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Mens Hockey Tickets

The Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Men's Hockey team is a relatively new program, having launched just ten years ago. Despite this, they have already established themselves as a competitive force to be reckoned with in college hockey.

The team plays in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), which is made up of over 500 teams from across the country. In their first season, the Golden Grizzlies played in Division III, but quickly moved up to Division II, where they have remained ever since.

While they are not affiliated with a specific conference, the Golden Grizzlies regularly face other Michigan-based teams such as Michigan State and Michigan Tech, as well as schools from around the Midwest. Their schedule includes both non-conference games against teams from across the country and conference games against fellow ACHA Division II teams.

Despite their young program, the Golden Grizzlies have had considerable success on the ice. They have made it to the national tournament five times in their ten-year history, including a run to the national championship game in 2016. While they ultimately fell short in that game, it was still an impressive accomplishment for a team that had only been around for six years at the time.

As with most college hockey programs, the Golden Grizzlies' roster is comprised mostly of players who were standouts at the high school level. Many of these players would go on to play at higher levels of competition if not for their choice to attend Oakland University.

It's worth noting that, due to their non-affiliated status, the Golden Grizzlies don't offer athletic scholarships. Instead, they provide financial aid packages for players based on academic merit and need. So while there may be some limitations on the caliber of players they can attract, the team has demonstrated that they are more than capable of competing at a high level.

With a solid foundation in place and a track record of success, it's exciting to think about what the future holds for the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Men's Hockey team. While they may not yet have the recognition or prestige of some of their Division I counterparts, they are proving that they belong on the ice with any team at any level.
