Pacific Association USATF 2016 LDR Awards Banquet Tickets

The Pacific Association USATF (USA Track & Field) 2016 LDR (Long Distance Running) Awards Banquet was held on January 14th, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Emeryville, California. The event celebrated the successes of the top long-distance runners in the Pacific Association region, which encompasses Northern California and Northern Nevada.

As a sporting event, the banquet provided an opportunity for athletes, coaches, and members of the running community to come together and recognize outstanding achievements from the past year. Of particular note were the recipients of the LDR Grand Prix Series awards. The LDR Grand Prix is a competition that combines points earned by athletes in a series of races throughout the season. Among the notable winners were Sissel Berntsen and Chris Knorzer, who claimed the overall female and male categories, respectively. Berntsen competed in six of the 12 races, consistently finishing in the top three, while Knorzer took part in eight races, winning five outright. Both athletes demonstrated exceptional consistency and endurance throughout the year, earning them the top spots in their respective categories.

Another highlight of the banquet was the presentation of the Katherine Berman and Sonje Mayo Memorial scholarships. These awards are given annually to two female high school seniors who display both athletic excellence and academic achievement. This year's recipients were Emma Hollander and Charlotte Tomkinson, both of whom have already established themselves as standout runners in their local communities.
