Prelude to a Kiss is an American play written by Craig Lucas that premiered off-Broadway in 1988. It tells the story of a young couple, Peter and Rita, who fall in love and get married. However, following their wedding, a mysterious old man requests to kiss the bride outside the reception hall. The kiss transfers Rita's soul into the old man's body, leaving Peter to cope with his now elderly wife.
