Born in California on December 21, 1993, Rachel was born blind due to complications during her premature birth. Despite her physical challenge, Rachel showed an interest in music at a young age. Her father, who was a professional musician, nurtured her talent by teaching her how to play various instruments such as guitar, piano, violin, flute and many more.

At four, Rachel started taking formal music lessons under the guidance of world-renowned jazz pianist Denny Zeitlin. Throughout her childhood and teenage years, she continued taking lessons and participated in music competitions. Rachel's outstanding talent caught the attention of various musical icons, including Keith Emerson, who invited her to perform with him onstage.

Rachel's affinity for classical music became apparent early on. She enjoyed playing pieces from great composers like Bach, Mozart, Chopin, and Beethoven. The same year, she toured Europe with The Keith Emerson Band and performed in front of sold-out audiences. Moreover, she has become a spokesperson for the National Braille Press, which aims to promote literacy among people who are blind and visually impaired.
