The men's soccer program at Sacramento State has been a competitive team in the Big West Conference since its inception in 2001. One player who made a significant impact on the Hornets’ success was forward Isaac Ikyurav. Ikyurav played for Sacramento State soccer team from 2012-2015 and set a number of records during his time with the Hornets. He finished his career as the school's all-time leading scorer with 31 goals, while also earning two-time All-Big West first-team honors.
Another notable player is midfielder Christian Webb, who was selected in the third round of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft by New York City FC. Webb played for the Hornets from 2014-2018 and earned First Team All-Big West Conference honors in both 2016 and 2017.
