Field's performance as Miranda Hillard, the estranged wife of Williams' character, was praised for its balancing act of humor and heart.

More recently, Field has continued to explore her comedic side in projects like the television series "Brothers & Sisters" and films like "Hello, My Name Is Doris" (2015) and "Dispatches from Elsewhere" (2020).
