SC Freiburg, also known as Sport-Club Freiburg e.V., is a German football club based in the city of Freiburg im Breisgau. The team was founded in 1904 and has since then become one of the most popular clubs in the country. While, historically, their achievements haven't been particularly impressive, recent seasons have seen the baseball-capped side continuously fighting for European qualification.

Freiburg's most successful period came in the late '90s and early 2000s, when they regularly qualified for the UEFA Cup (now known as the Europa League). Between 1995 and 2001, the team reached the competition four times, with their best performance coming in the 1995-96 season when they reached the quarterfinals before losing to Bordeaux.
