St. John's (MN) Johnnies Football Tickets

St. John's University is a small, Catholic liberal arts college located in Collegeville, Minnesota. While it may be relatively unknown to many outside the Midwest, the St. John's Johnnies Football team has had a rich history and tradition, competing at the highest levels of college football.

Since the program's inception in 1901, the Johnnies have played in over 1,100 games and have amassed an impressive record of 888 wins, 234 losses, and 32 draws. They've won four national championships (1963, 1965, 1976, and 2003), 34 conference championships, and they hold the record for the most consecutive conference victories in NCAA history with 55.

One of the key factors in the Johnnies' success is their head coach, Gary Fasching. Since taking over as head coach in 2013, Fasching has led St. John's to a record of 75-11, with three MIAC championships and four NCAA playoff appearances. He was named the AFCA Division III Coach of the Year in 2015 and has been a finalist for the award two other times.

St. John's doesn't just excel on the field, however. The program prides itself on its commitment to academics and developing young men of character. As a result, the Johnnies consistently rank among the top Division III programs in terms of graduation rates and academic honors.

Aside from their impressive record and off-field accomplishments, the Johnnies hold a unique place in college football history due to their longstanding rivalry with St. Thomas. The two schools, both members of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC), meet every year in what has become known as the "Tommie-Johnnie" game. The rivalry, which dates back to 1901, is one of the oldest and most intense in college football, drawing crowds of up to 17,000 fans.

While St. John's doesn't compete on the same level as powerhouse programs like Alabama or Ohio State, they've found success at their own level and have proven to be a perennial contender in Division III.
