Stand-Up Kids University Graduation Show: A Celebration of Young Comedy Talent

Comedy has always been a powerfully effective way to connect with people, share ideas, and lighten the mood. Enter Stand-Up Kids University (SUKU), a program founded by Los Angeles-based comedian Lisa Sundstedt to teach kids aged 7-16 the art of stand-up comedy. Over the course of ten weeks, SUKU students learn the basics of writing and performing their own material, culminating in a graduation show where they can showcase their skills to a live audience.

This year's Stand-Up Kids University Graduation Show was held on June 5th at the famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, California. The lineup featured 15 young comedians, ranging in age from 8 to 16, each performing a five-minute set of original material.

The show was emceed by Lisa Sundstedt herself, who provided the background and context for the event. She explained how the program had grown over the years, and how proud she was of all the students who had taken part.

The young comedians themselves were an incredibly diverse group, both in terms of their backgrounds and their material. Some talked about school, friends, and family, while others tackled more political and social issues.
