Steven White is a renowned conductor of classical music who has made a significant contribution to the world of orchestra and opera. He has worked with some of the most distinguished orchestras, operas, and ensembles throughout the United States and abroad.
Steven White began his musical career when he studied French horn at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Afterward, he attended Indiana University Bloomington where he earned his Master of Music degree in Orchestral Conducting. Steven also completed post-graduate work as a conducting fellow at the Aspen Music Festival.
Steven White's career in classical music truly started when he was appointed as the Assistant Conductor of the Houston Grand Opera in 1993. Soon after, he became the company’s Resident Conductor from 1996 to 2006. In addition to his tenure at Houston Grand Opera, Steven White has conducted more than nine productions at other prominent companies such as the Dallas Opera, Los Angeles Opera, and Opera Theatre of St. Louis.
