The Super Bowl has always been a highly anticipated event, not just for football fans, but also for those who enjoy the spectacle of the halftime show and the commercial breaks that often feature some of the most creative and hilarious advertisements of the year.

But in recent years, comedy has become an even more prominent part of the Super Bowl experience, with comedians and comedic actors being called upon to host and perform during the event. The 2017 Super Bowl was no exception, with some of the biggest names in comedy taking center stage.

First up was comedian Keegan-Michael Key, who appeared in a pre-game skit alongside Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. In the skit, Key played the role of "Luther," Brady's "anger translator," who helped the usually calm and collected QB express his frustration over the Deflategate scandal.

Later in the game, comedian Melissa McCarthy starred in a commercial for Kia, in which she played an eco-warrior who raced through town in a Kia Niro, trying to save the planet. The ad was a huge hit with viewers, thanks to McCarthy's trademark physical comedy and hilarious one-liners.

But perhaps the biggest comedy moment of the night came during Lady Gaga's halftime performance. The pop star's high-flying acrobatics and elaborate outfits were certainly impressive, but it was her brief bit of self-deprecating humor that got the biggest laughs.

After flying across the field on cables and performing some of her biggest hits, Gaga paused for a moment to address the audience. "How are you doing tonight, Texas?" she asked. "Are you ready for the world's largest Instagram post?"

It was a clever nod to the social media frenzy that always accompanies major events like the Super Bowl, and it showed that even amidst all the glitz and glamour, Gaga hasn't lost her sense of humor.

All in all, the 2017 Super Bowl was a great night for comedy fans, with plenty of laughs to be had both on and off the field. Whether it was Keegan-Michael Key's antics or Melissa McCarthy's car chase, there was something for everyone, making this year's game one to remember.
