Terry Jones, who passed away in January 2020, was a well-known public figure around the world for his work with Monty Python and as a filmmaker. However, many fans may not know that Terry also had a deep love of music and, over the course of his career, was involved in numerous concerts and performances.

One of Terry's early forays into the world of music was with his fellow Pythons. In 1976, the group created a musical film called "Monty Python's The Meaning of Life." While Terry wasn't directly involved in the writing or recording of the songs, he appeared in various segments of the film that featured musical numbers.

In 1987, Terry co-wrote and directed "Erik the Viking," a comedic fantasy film that starred Tim Robbins. Terry also took on the role of composer for the film's score, which was performed by an all-star cast of musicians including the London Metropolitan Orchestra and members of the English Chamber Choir.

While his contributions to movie soundtracks were impressive, Terry's true love for music lay in live performances. In addition to attending concerts frequently, he also participated in many shows himself. One notable example was in 2009 when he performed "Spamalot," a musical adaptation of Monty Python's "Holy Grail" at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Terry's other musical pursuits ranged from playing guitar and singing in a band called The Fred Tomlinson Singers (which he referred to as "the most uncool band in the universe") to conducting choirs in Wales and directing operas. In 2015, he served as a judge on the BBC talent show "Last Choir Standing."

Terry's passion for music was evident not just in his work but also in the way he lived his life. He once said, "Music is a way of expressing something that words can't express. It's a very magical thing." Through his many contributions to the world of music, Terry Jones ensured that the magic would live on.
