Tomi Lahren is unlikely to be a name that springs to mind when discussing theater. The controversial conservative commentator has built a reputation for herself by consistently delivering sharply critical monologues, often advancing her right-wing agenda with fervent determination.

However, despite her hard-hitting political and social commentary, Lahren's history actually includes a brief period of involvement in theater, which some might find surprising.

Before gaining notoriety as a Fox Nation host, Lahren attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she studied journalism and political science. While at university, Lahren was heavily involved in various extracurricular activities, including volunteering for Republican campaigns and serving as a production assistant for the local NBC affiliate.

It was during this time that Lahren also tried her hand at theater, appearing in several college productions. In particular, she featured in UNLV's production of "The Vagina Monologues," a play by Eve Ensler that explores various aspects of female sexuality and experience through a series of monologues performed by multiple actresses.

The play, which has become something of a cultural phenomenon since its initial release in 1996, has sparked numerous controversies over the years due to its frank language and explicit discussion of sexual subjects.

Given Lahren's conservative, anti-feminist rhetoric, it might seem surprising that she agreed to appear in a play like "The Vagina Monologues." In fact, Lahren has acknowledged that her participation in the production was somewhat out of character, given her typically outspoken views on issues related to gender and sexuality.

In a statement made to the Washington Post in 2016, Lahren reflected on her decision to take part in the play, saying that it was "not the most conservative thing in the world to do." She went on to explain that she had been inspired to join the cast after listening to a performance on her college radio station.

"I had a college radio show at the time, and I was playing some of the monologues on air," Lahren said. "The more I heard them, the more I felt that they had something important to say about women's experiences."

Lahren's involvement in "The Vagina Monologues" highlights an important fact about theater as an art form: it can provoke thought and encourage people to challenge their preconceptions about the world. While Lahren may not have been converted to a feminist agenda by her participation in the play, it does demonstrate that exposure to different artistic expressions can broaden a person's perspective.

Of course, Lahren is now known primarily for her political commentary and has largely left behind any aspirations she may have had toward a career in entertainment. Nevertheless, her brief dalliance with theater serves as a reminder that no matter how entrenched our beliefs may seem, there is always room for growth and change through engagement with new ideas.
