WPial Lacrosse: A Powerful Addition to the Sports Scene

Lacrosse is one of the fastest-growing sports in America today. It has been gaining popularity because of its fast-paced action, high-scoring games, and physical excitement. Recently, lacrosse has found a home in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL).

The WPIAL association is made up of 10 counties in western Pennsylvania. It organizes interscholastic sporting events for over 160 schools in the region. The addition of lacrosse in WPIAL has brought a new level of energy and competitiveness to the league.

In 2005, WPIAL voted to approve boys lacrosse as an official sport. Later on, in 2014, girls lacrosse was also introduced. Now, both boys and girls play lacrosse in WPIAL.
