Louisiana State University - Alexandria, commonly known as LSUA, has a rich basketball history. The LSUA Generals are the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) basketball team representing the university in Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana. The Generals basketball program is one of the most successful athletic programs at LSUA.

LSUA basketball officially began as a club sport in 2003, but the men's team played its first intercollegiate game in the 2004-2005 season. The team’s inaugural season was under the tutelage of head coach Larry Cordaro. Since then, the team has gained tremendous popularity among college basketball lovers and enthusiasts due to their impressive performances both on and off the court.
